B2C: What influences consumers’ purchasing decisions?

To answer this question, the technology company Akeneo surveyed a total of 3,500 consumers in seven countries.

We have summarised what is important for you briefly and succinctly here:

➡️ Correct product information: A full 81% of respondents from DE, FR and UK have already cancelled one or more purchases due to inadequate product information. It is also interesting that around 53% of respondents have already returned goods against the same background.

➡️ Technical information: Likewise, 81% of the respondents said that they conduct extensive online research in advance. Of particular interest are detailed product descriptions and the technical functions of the product.

➡️ Certificates and seals: Certificates and quality seals are particularly important for German consumers. Environmental protection and sustainability are also of interest to German consumers at 54 %.
